enlighten me, please

I was watching TVmobile on the bus this morning. It showed the 'Inspirations' thing.
And I don't quite understand it.

"Our deepest fear is NOT that we are inadequate;
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure."

"It is NOT darkness that frightens us,
It is light that frightens us."
